Hi, I’m Ngoc Cao, or Jade. I’m a full-time communications analyst and freelance graphic designer, stylist, and somewhat a photographer. The name “Sign by Jade” is a short form of “Designed by Jade ”. And you’re probably wondering what are the two dashes in the G and D for? Try to combine the letters together and you would get the symbol behind it.
A little about me: I was born and raised in a rural village of Can Tho City, Vietnam, where I was surrounded by the rice field and the river all my life until I moved to the U.S. in 2007. I moved to a different country without knowing much of its language or culture at all, but it has shaped who I am today.
A little about my work: Most of my articles are fashion editorial/look book as I have a big passion for fashion. I look at fashion shows and campaigns to come up with collections based on my favorite trends and pieces. Regarding styling, I don’t have a specific style or theme but I try to keep things minimal as you can see in my capsule wardrobe. I like to balance the vintage with the modern, light with dark, etc. I love line, shape, and colors as they all have their unique features. Also, I prefer to work with muted, neutral tones and natural textures.
Lastly, I am not a professional photographer but I aim to capture small moments through natural light-driven photos. I’m largely inspired by nature and the people around me. From capturing a simple to most exciting moments, it all worth a thousand words.
This page is a way for me to share my experience and what I learn along the way. I would love to hear your experience and I hope you stick around!
