So if you are on social media, then there might be a great chance that you had bumped into a Glossier sponsored post, advertisement, or comment. It is not hard to understand because Glossier started its empire with social media – Instagram and Slack specifically.
So why is Glossier so popular? The answer is their great brand identity, especially to the millennials with their pink bubble wrap and the signature glass makeup look. What sets Glossier apart is their engagement with customers. They do not go after famous or well-known influencers with millions of followers but rather regular people, who can also be an influencer. Their campaigns are very personal, emotional, loyalty-inspiring – which is increasingly essential for a brand to stand out. One of their most recent campaign logos was “Beauty inspired by real-life (and real people).” In addition, Glossier always includes their most engaged customers and fans in special events, and referral programs with promotional codes to share discounts with their followers in exchange for store credit at Glossier. This way, anyone can really be an influencer.
After hearing a lot of fuss about them, I decided to try their popular “The Makeup Set,” and here is my thought of each product:
I have never used a brow product before, so this was very new to me, but now I see why this product is Glossier’s top seller. It is just great. I don’t have very thick or long eyebrows, so I often have to use an eyebrow pencil, which I’m not very fond of because I was never able to draw them perfectly. So this product is perfect because it adds just the right amount of definition that makes my brows look natural and perfectly full. I love how it separates and grooms so well, yet not sticky, or flaky. Although, it took me some time to get it even and not overwork it.
Lash Slick Mascara
I used to wear contacts and was never able to wear mascara as it always bothers my eyes. So now that I no longer wear contacts, I wanted to try wearing mascara again, and the Lash Slick was a great choice. I wear them every day now as it helps lengthen and darken my lashes. I was nervous that it was not waterproof, but I’m happy to report that it doesn’t smudge throughout the day; however, I did find that the fibers do flake a little towards the end of someday.
This one is my favorite product out of three. I find this Cloud Paint so easy to apply, where I use my finger and blend it on my cheeks. It’s lightweight and adds a natural finish to my complexion. As for the color, I bought Beam -an orangey and peachy color. My skin tone is light with a warm undertone, and this shade gave me a great sun-kissed look. I am definitely considering getting more shades!
